Terms of Service

These terms apply to all purchases from La Boy Jewellers and to your use of laboyjewellers.com. By placing an order, paying a deposit or using this website, you agree to them.

La Boy Jewellers is operated by [legal business name], based in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at hello@laboyjewellers.com.

Custom orders and quotes
Most La Boy pieces are made to order. Prices shown on the website are starting prices. Your final price depends on the metal, stones, size and design details you choose, and we confirm it with you in writing before production begins. Quotes are valid for 14 days, because gold and stone prices change.

Payment and deposits
Custom work begins once we receive a deposit of 50% of the quoted price. The remaining balance is due before your piece is shipped or collected. Deposits are non-refundable once design work has started, as set out in our Refund Policy.

Design approval
Before production, we send you a design to review, such as a sketch or 3D model. You are responsible for checking every detail, including metal, karat, stones, measurements, size and engraving spelling. Production begins only after you approve the design, and approved designs cannot be changed or cancelled.

Handmade pieces and natural stones
Every piece is made by hand, so small variations from renders, photos or previous pieces are normal and are not defects. Colours on screen can also differ from real life. Natural and lab-grown stones each have their own character, and no two are identical. We will always tell you whether a stone is natural or lab-grown. Where a grading report is provided, the stone's details are as stated in that report.

Stones or metal you provide
If you supply your own stones or metal, we will handle them with care, but some stones can crack or chip during setting or resizing because of hidden weaknesses. We are not responsible for damage to client-supplied materials, and you may wish to insure them.

Timelines
Estimated completion and delivery dates are our best estimate and are not guaranteed, as sourcing and craftsmanship can take longer than expected. We will keep you informed of any delay.

Shipping and pickup
Shipping, delivery and pickup are covered in our Shipping Policy. Risk of loss passes to you once your piece is delivered or collected.

Refunds, repairs and resizing
All sales are final. Our Refund Policy explains the exceptions, including workmanship defects, pieces not made as approved, and resizing.

Watches
Pre-owned watches are sold as described in their listing. Some watches are modified after manufacture, for example with added diamonds. Aftermarket modifications are not made or endorsed by the original manufacturer and may affect the manufacturer's warranty. La Boy Jewellers is an independent jeweller and is not affiliated with, or authorised by, any watch brand we sell or modify.

Our designs and photos
All designs, sketches, 3D models, photos and text on this website belong to La Boy Jewellers and may not be copied or reproduced without permission. We may photograph finished pieces for our portfolio and social media. If you'd prefer your piece not be shared, just let us know.

Website information
We work to keep product information, prices and availability accurate, but errors can occur. We reserve the right to correct any errors and to refuse or cancel an order if a price or description was listed incorrectly. In that case, any payment for that order will be refunded in full.

Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, La Boy Jewellers is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your purchase or use of this website. Our total liability for any order will not exceed the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or any other law that cannot be excluded.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.
